Called Etisalat today to see what was going on.

Was fobbed off yet again… I’m slowly getting a vibe along the lines of “we’ll connect you when we feel like it – we don’t need your money”

As I had not been contacted by anyone since my call on Saturday I decided to call up and find out what was going on.

Received an SMS message from Etisalat –

Dear customer, your sub request number is 130860231; it is escalated to concerned departments. Thank you. Etisalat-101

This is strange as the chap on Saturday could not send me an SMS

Rang Etisalat to see how my connection was going.. afterall it had gone pretty quiet and maybe I’d missed a call whilst in China.

Now the line was not the clearest in the world (which is kind of ironic) so I only part heard something about no ports available and that they would raise a complaint

So I finally made it to the Etisalat office to find out it would be closed over the Eid break. Etisalat are the monopoly telephony provider over here in the UAE
