Etisalat Part #10

I Just called Etisalat to check on my internet connection status.

Surprisingly I got straight through.
This is a shame as I love to hear the crappy hold music; which is played at twice the volume and distorted just for good measure.

Me: Hi just ringing up to check on my new internet connection.
Him: What is your

Etisalat Part #9

Called Etisalat today to see what was going on.

Was fobbed off yet again… I’m slowly getting a vibe along the lines of “we’ll connect you when we feel like it – we don’t need your money”

Etisalat Part #8

As I had not been contacted by anyone since my call on Saturday I decided to call up and find out what was going on.

After being played back a series of prerecorded and sometimes garbled electronic information I got connected.

Me: Hi there I am trying to get an update on my new connection as no

Received an SMS message from Etisalat –

Dear customer, your sub request number is 130860231; it is escalated to concerned departments. Thank you. Etisalat-101

This is strange as the chap on Saturday could not send me an SMS

Etisalat Part #6

Etisalat Part #5

It was Saturday and I was heading out to China the next day. As it had been almost ten days since I ordered the ADSL I rang up Etisalat.

I was greeted by a very polite man who informed me that everything was going well. The fibre was being laid and I should be connected soon.

Etisalat Part #4

I had to head into the city during the day as I needed to collect the insurance for my new car.

Having previously learnt that the third floor was the place to go I headed straight to the two men at the end of the floor. The queue was short and the Emirati man was extremely

Etisalat Part #2

I headed up to the 4th floor where I had been directed. Took a ticket (they love tickets here) sat down and waited for ages. Finally the ticket was called and I went to the desk and sat down.

Me: I’d like to setup a new ADSL internet account please

Him: Sorry but you need to go

Etisalat Part #1

So I finally made it to the Etisalat office to find out it would be closed over the Eid break. Etisalat are the monopoly telephony provider over here in the UAE

The guards suggested I came back on the following weekend as the government get their holidays stretched out a bit.
