We headed to the Grand Mosque here in Abu Dhabi. It is a fantastic piece of workmanship and just imply stunning.

Afterwards we drove to Jebbel Hafeet which has a great viewing point and a fantastic windy

I’d been logically been putting it off until I’d got my UAE driving licence and besides Saturday was a quieter day for me. Anyhow the showroom did not do test drives on Fridays.

After ten days of bad weather postponed the previous trips we finally had some good weather. Thursday night saw the night & navigation dives. Followed by the deep, wreck, and search & rescue dives on Sunday.

My final open water dive.

It was a perfect day as we headed out to Motiki Island some distance from Mount Maunganui. The dive boat has two 150bhp outboards which meant that it didn’t take long to get to our destination.

It is quite a strange feeling jumping off a perfectly reasonable boat into the sea. It takes a second or two for the water to fill up the wet suit, to some point where you realise it is actually cold.
