Charging Ahead!

Tuesday was spent sorting out the car insurance and signing paperwork. Several copies, numerous signatures & copies of ID later, I was in receipt of the insurance. I duly took this to the Dodge showroom as it was nearby.

Later in the day I was told I could finally go and collect the loan forms or as they call them here ‘mortgages’.

Wednesday morning I headed to the car loan branch of the bank – they are seperate buildings over here.

After ten signaures on six different peices of paper and copies of ID each signed I was finally given the mortgage form. I headed to the showroom across town where I duly gave it to the salesman. Now all they had to do was wait for the IPO (yet another peice of paper!). I was advised that I could collect the car that night.

The day was slow and I eventually got a lift to the showroom, leaving the hire car at work. After some more form signing and a cup of coffee I jumped in the car and left.

I finally own a Dodge Charger R/T, with a 5.7l Hemi and some 350bhp!

It’s the perfect vehicle over here as you have the capcity to get out of trouble VERY quickly. Overtaking and pulling out of junctions is a doddle now.

Yesterday I took the car out for a drive around Al Ain / Jebel Hafeet & Liwa. If I’d had my passport I would have popped over to Oman as Al Ain is on the border – I might just leave that to next weekend!
