Home Sweet Home

I moved into my new place last night. For 100,000AED it’s not bad value. Even better was the bargain price I paid for all the furniture (bed, fridge, washing machine, sofa, satellite tuner, two flat screen tv’s, dinning table, lounge seats & coffee table). What I’ll do with two tv’s is even beyond me though. All in all it was not a bad deal for 5000AED (830GBP).

The apartment is the top floor of a three storey townhouse / villa so I have unrestricted access to the roof. It has a pokey kitchen, large bedroom with en suite, small lounge with en suite (go figure. I guess it was meant to be a single bedroom). The ‘hall’ is big enough to act as the dinning room.

As random as these things are, the washing machine is in my bathroom and takes pride and place of where the bidet should be.

Work is a stones throw away… well as the crow fly’s it’s probably 15mins walk. What with the motorway in the way it ends up being 30mins via the nearest overbridge. You need a death wish to walk this way also as the drivers are absolute maniacs. Fortunately there are enough kind people here at the office who are prepared to give me a lift.
