So it’s Thursday nine days before I get on the big bird in the sky yet again. Abu Dhabi & UAE here I come.
Since I wrote last the Project has achieved it’s practical completion and all in all I think it looks pretty good. I am hoping the client actually likes it, as it has gone through an amazing transformation in the last couple of weeks. We also managed to replace one of the glass panels eleven floors up. This is a another story in it’s own right.
So most of my stuff has now been sold – bargain prices for everyone except me. Fortunately there has been enough interest on Ebay for my stuff to be sold. Most people are quite reasonable and happy cheerful types – as all my stuff is for collection. Then there are the occasional people out there who have the gall to ask how much I would sell something for without any bids (Cheeky b’stards). My philosophy for those types is see you later or make a bid like everyone else.
Anyhow this weekend is going to be busy. It’s probably my last Friday night drinks, followed by some Ebay collections on the Saturday, a token bit of glass replacement at work followed by a fantastic meal and some clubbing. Then there will be some more packing and collections Sunday.
I have managed to cut down my shipping costs from $6600 to $3000, and made about $4000 in selling all my stuff. This ultimately will allow me to buy a load of new stuff in Abu Dhabi – oh for the excuse for a new LED tv and Wii…
Fortunately I have managed to confirm the collection of all my stuff for next Friday.
The only thing left to do is list ALL the books and films/DVD’s I’m taking as apparently anything religious or pornographic is not allowed. This includes films like Ben Hur or the Ten Commandments. I wonder if Monty Python’s The Meaning of Life is acceptable?
