Fisho’s

Well this weekend was a Bank Holiday – Australia Day in fact.

A very strange and insular event where everyone goes around with flags in their car windows whilst wearing shirts emblazoned with the Australian flag. It is indeed a strange spectacle and reminds me a lot of the USA when I visited a couple of years ago. It is a very much in your face affair.

Anyhow a couple of work mates and I popped down to the Gold Coast for the weekend to sample the renowned Fisho’s on Sunday. Okay so it is renowned in the sense that us ‘foriegners’ had never heard of it.

After lounging around for a while and several drinks on the Saturday night we headed off to Fisho’s early – 12pm! It is a long time since I have seen so many people in one venue. Jugs a plenty – beer, water you name it. We ended up leaving at 9pm – unable to drink much more.

Fortunately we were able to spend the Monday Recovering.
