So I have been here for five weeks now. Things are going well.
Unfortunately as I have no access to broadband, one of the FEW things I can’t do at work is access my Facebook account. So until my new phone line is installed or I find a free wifi connection, you’ll just have to survive without me.
It is EKKA day here in Brisbane – ie a bank holiday. But I have come into work to do some really exciting stuff. Besides staring at the four walls of my new pad is not half as exciting!
It has started to rain! Not that you will give two hoots i’m sure, but it is the FIRST rain I have seen since I have been here. I am sure everyone will be jumping up and down for joy, as the dams around here are pretty empty.
I discovered another exciting thing to do here last night – The Cinema! Yep, you heard right! The good old cinema. Well okay the Southbank cinema here in the centre of town is slightly different to your average joe blogs cinema in that it has an IMAX screen. They stopped showing IMAX films a couple of years ago (as there aren’t many of them) and started showing normal films on the 25m high screen. Seeing Die Hard 4 was an experience let me tell you. You can get pretty immersed in the film. And all for the princely sum of $6 !!!! That’s about 3GBP to you guys in blighty!!!! (What is quite annoying is that I have just the keyboards over here don’t have the pound sign character on them! Argh!)
I am off to play in the rain.
