I’d Better Shoot Along!

Today is a lovely autumnal day in ChCh. It’s chilly out but the warmth of the sun is making a difference.

Last night was another new experience. We headed off to Campbell’s farm and went lamping or rabbit shooting. It was quite a fun way to spend the night, eventually ending at 2am. I think we managed to take out thirty to forty odd rabbits or hares, so it was a pretty good evening. These little things would be eating enough food to keep five sheep on the go!

This morning I got vetted by the local firearms officer and will soon be the proud owner of a licence. It’s a pretty simple affair albeit that they do ask one hell of a lot of questions. Which I guess is reasonable. For example – “Would you use a firearm in self defence?” – Now call me stupid but surely there is only one answer to this?? or is this one of the ways they catch out the really dumb arses who don’t have a single brain cell?

As for all the other stuff going on? Well I guess I’ll update the work situation when I can – Those in the know – know so to speak. Suffice to say there may be a couple of trips to China coming up.

Have a great weekend
